Our Vision Statement:Oil Spills Are Mitigated.
SEAPRO Mission Statement:
SEAPRO is an oil spill response oranization for Southeast Alaska, ranging south from Dixon Entrance, which borders our Canadian neighbors to the south and continues to the north to south-central Alaska west of Yakutat. This area of Alaska contains some of the largest and most remote coastline in the United States. SEAPRO compensates for this limitation by strategically placing equipment throughout the region. SEAPRO staff and local SEAPRO responders maintain equipment. SEAPRO conducts training at the community level using SEAPRO responders and member company employees. SEAPRO is a member-owned cooperative consisting of sixty-seven member companies. These are classified as Marine Transporters, Facility Operators, Non-Tank Vessel Operators, and Others. Included within these groups are industry representatives from diverse applications such as mining, seafood processing, logging, petroleum distribution, and construction. SEAPRO has developed a comprehensive training program to compensate for our geographic isolation. This program includes an academic segment as well as a hands on response training in which, regardless of weather, equipment is tested according to United States Coast Guard's NPREP guidelines.
